INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION TO THE

MICHIGAN NATURAL RESOURCES TRUST FUND AND

THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND FOR A GRANT TO REPLACE

BOARDWALK AND PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AT LAKE LANSING PARK-NORTH

RESOLUTION #03-70

WHEREAS, a County Park Master Plan was developed under the direction of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners establishing a systematic plan to meet the goal of providing adequate recreational facilities for the residents of Ingham County; and

WHEREAS, an identified need in that plan is the renovation of the existing boardwalks and playground at Lake Lansing-North; and

WHEREAS, a $25,000 donation from the Trust of Albert A. White will provide the local match for this project; and

WHEREAS, the Planning and Community Outreach Committee of the Ingham County Parks Board has recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize an application to be submitted to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund requesting a grant in the amount of $75,000 for boardwalk and playground replacement at Lake Lansing Park-North; and

WHEREAS, the Planning and Community Outreach Committee of the Ingham County Parks Board has recommended that a concurrent application be submitted to the Land and Water Conservation Fund requesting a grant in the amount of $25,000 for boardwalk and playground replacement at Lake Lansing Park-North.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes that an application be submitted to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources requesting a grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund in the amount of $75,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes that an application be submitted to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources requesting a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund in the amount of $25,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Park Facility Master Plan Capital Improvement Schedule be modified to reflect playground safety modifications be moved to priority number one, and that the Lake Lansing Park-North trail boardwalk renovation be assigned priority number two in the Five Year Capital Improvement Schedule.
